Our story

The Bauhaus, alive.Published today.

Welcome to Bauhaus Posters, specialists in the publishing of original works inspired by the Bauhaus (1919-1933). Founded in 2019, exactly one hundred years later, our art house brings together a team of artists working to keep the movement's visual foundations alive. Signed creations, printed according to a museum-grade, eco-friendly specification.

Our manifesto

Why weexist.

An editorial manifesto. Our reason for being, our commitment, our stance.

Bauhaus Posters was founded in 2019 around a simple conviction: the Bauhaus is not a museum. Born in Weimar in 1919, Walter Gropius's movement laid the foundations of modern design: economy of means, elementary geometry, beauty accessible to all.

The decorative poster market has let itself be overrun by ease. Wild reproductions, low-resolution illustrations, fragile papers that don't last, prices unrelated to actual quality. This is not Bauhaus. It is its exact opposite. We publish against the grain of this drift.

Our vision

What we choose.What we refuse.

Editorial selection as an act of resistance.

Our selection rests on four principles: minimalist construction, elementary geometry, chromatic precision, graphic legibility. A work that meets them joins our catalogue. All others are refused, without exception.

Every work in our catalogue is hand-crafted by an artist. Our creations do not draw on any public-domain work. We do not reproduce the Bauhaus, we perpetuate it. We publish little. One work at a time. By choice.

Everything you need to know about our works, shipping and our commitment to quality.

All our works are printed using pigment inkjet, with a precision of around 4 picolitres, on thick paper with a satin, slightly azure-toned finish. The colour bonding, of museum quality, is guaranteed for 100 years. The perfect balance for lasting creations, deep colours and perfect legibility whatever the angle of the light in your rooms.

Pigment inks deliver deep, stable colours that do not fade over time. Every image in our shop is based on the actual colorimetry of our print sources. The only possible variation comes from your screen settings.

Each poster is an exclusive edition, original and protected. Our works draw faithfully on the principles of the Bauhaus 1919–1933, on its continuations and its contemporary legacies. We do not reproduce the Bauhaus. We carry it forward.
